I started a tech company.
Not because I had a clear plan, but because I couldn’t ignore the pull to build something anymore.
After more than a decade in corporate, I stepped away and gave myself space. I was in the studio more. Scoring films. Making things without a brief, without a deadline, without anyone else in the room. It reminded me how much I need to create.
But there was this tension sitting underneath it.
I knew I wanted to build something bigger. I just didn’t know what it was yet.
That part was uncomfortable. Months went by like that. Nothing I touched felt like the thing. I had all this experience, all these patterns from years in legal tech and operations, but no obsession to anchor it to.
Then I met an engineer in San Francisco who was completely consumed by AI.
We started talking. Ideas, systems, what was broken, what could exist instead. And somewhere in those conversations, things started to lock in.
Not as a fully formed idea. More like a direction I couldn’t unsee.
So I started Contracts.ai, a B2B software company. A place to take everything I had seen, everything that never quite worked, and actually build it the way I think it should exist.
Not as a fix. As a clean rebuild.
I don’t think of myself as just a founder. I think of myself as a creator.
Music, systems, products, content. It’s the same instinct, expressed in different forms.
This is one of them.
